Position Description

Position Title: Occupational Therapist / Special Education

Department: Assigned building

Reports To: Assigned Teacher, Principal, Special Ed. Director

Evaluated By: Building Principal/Special Education Director

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:  Works with the Full time the Lead Occupational Therapist and collaborates on the daily instructional program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs, through evaluation, educational program planning, and service delivery.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree with Occupational Therapist Certifications, with a high school diploma or equivalent. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence, memos, or reports.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students or other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

While performing the duties of this job, Occupational Therapist will be regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
